A downloadable book

It's Already Spring is a free, digital-only hyouka fanzine (with an additional bonus zine, of Oct 2022) celebrating the novel by Honobu Yonezawa & anime directed by Yasuhiro Takemoto. Featuring seasonal & post-canon art/fic, the zine was released on 22 Apr 2022, the anime's 10th anniversary!

This zine comes in PDF format and is chonky. Same pages may not load properly when you open the zine - do give your pdf reader some time to load the pages, or simply close and re-open the file again!

ZINE THEME: Based off the seasonal solar terms (24 sekki) that appear at each episode's midpoint, It's Already Spring features pieces from the beginning of summer, autumn equinox, to frostfall and spring - pass the seasons of the year with the Kotenbu in our zine

ZINE CONTENTS: Ver 1.0 of the zine includes 5 full page artworks, and 6 fics of varying length. Future versions of the zine with additional pages may be uploaded~

A note: With this project, we also want to honour and remember the lives and the work of the staff of Kyoani who we lost in July 2019's arson attack, some of which were involved in the making of Hyouka, including: 武本康弘 Yasuhiro Takemoto (Director), 西屋太志 Futoshi Nishiya (Character Design), 木上益治 Yoshiji Kigami (Storyboard, Episode Director, Key Animation), 宇田淳一 Jun'ichi Uda (Key Animation, In-between Animation), 横田圭佑 Keisuke Yokota (Production Manager), 石田奈央美 Naomi Ishida (Color Design) & 明見裕子 Yuko Myouken (Key Animation).

The anime they've breathed life into continue to inspire us, make us laugh, make us cry, and move us deeply... we hope that this can be a way of remembering and honoring them.
